The main characters of “Supernatural” will have a lot to deal with in the upcoming new season of the CW TV series. Cast member Misha Collins, who portrays the angel Castiel, teased about his character’s arc in “Supernatural” Season 11 as well the Dean-Castiel relationship and the arrival of the show’s new “Big Bad” called the Darkness. “Supernatural” Season 11 premieres on Wednesday night, Oct. 7, at 9/8c on the CW Network.

Spoiler Alert: This feature contains major “Supernatural” spoilers.

Rowena, played by Ruth Connell, placed the “Attack Dog” spell on Castiel and made the angel go after her son Crowley, played by Mark Sheppard, in the finale episode of “Supernatural” Season 10. Misha Collins teased in an interview with BuddyTV at the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con that his character will continue to suffer from the spell in “Supernatural” Season 11.

“He's not himself to say the least,” Collins said in the BuddyTV interview. The 40-year-old actor added that the spell will have a profound impact on Castiel.

When asked about the Darkness, Collins shared that the new big bad villain of “Supernatural” Season 11 was a bedtime story for angels so they only believed it as a scary myth. Collins teased that the powerful and ominous pre-biblical Darkness will become a focused and concrete foe in the upcoming new season after it got released in the finale episode of “Supernatural” Season 10.

The fans will be seeing Castiel teaming up again with Dean Winchester, played by Jensen Ackles, in “Supernatural” Season 11. The issue on the Mark of Cain in “Supernatural” Season 10 kept the two characters apart.

Collins teased in an interview with Popsugar that Castiel and Dean will be putting their differences aside in “Supernatural” Season 11 in order to be united when it comes to fighting off the Darkness. “I think that they are aware that the presence of The Darkness is actually their fault and they have to clean up the mess that they have made,” Collins said in the Popsugar interview at the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con.
