'Supernatural' Season 11 spoilers: Crowley spends Christmas with Rowena, Lucifer and Sam inside the cage

The promo video of “Supernatural” Season 11 episode 10 teases that Crowley (Mark Sheppard), the King of Hell and Rowena (Ruth Connell) will celebrate Christmas together. The brand new episode is also expected to continue on the storylines involving Amara/The Darkness (Emily Swallow) and the Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki) inside Lucifer’s cage. [Spoiler Alert!]

In the promo video, Crowley is excited to celebrate Christmas with his mum, Rowena. However, the red-haired witch is not really in the mood to take part in the holiday festivities.

The promo video also teases that Castiel (Misha Collins) will return in the CW TV series. The angel character was last seen in the sixth episode of “Supernatural” Season 11 titled “Our Little World.” In the said episode, Castiel tracked down Metatron (Curtis Armstrong) and found out from the former Scribe of God that Amara/The Darkness is the sister that God betrayed to fulfill His creation.

Another storyline expected to be explored when “Supernatural” Season 11 returns is the bond between Amara and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles).

The Winchester brothers still have no idea how to defeat Amara/The Darkness. According to a TV Line report, “Supernatural” cast member Misha Collins teased that Castiel may not be able to help Sam and Dean with their problem on The Darkness because the angel is currently alienated from Heaven.

“Cas is pretty much reviled by everyone in Heaven. He’s not involved, and he doesn’t have the inside scoop at all. He’s definitely not a conduit to Heaven in any way,” Collins shared. However, Castiel’s return may have something to do with the Sam-Lucifer storyline inside the cage.

The mid-season finale of “Supernatural” Season 11 ended with Sam stuck inside Lucifer’s cage because of Rowena’s treachery. Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino), who was there when God locked up The Darkness, offered to help Sam in defeating the prebiblical threat if the younger Winchester hunter agrees to be his vessel once again.

“Supernatural” Season 11 is scheduled to return with episode 10 titled “The Devil in the Details” on Jan. 20, 2016. The Christmas-themed episode of the CW Network’s TV series will air at 9/8c.
