Lord Varys Exits New York, The 'Game of Thrones' Ending on Suits

The USA-Suits showrunners made a smart move in casting not one, but two big Game of Thrones characters to up its game for Season 3. This is perhaps the most important season of the series, so far, with explosive developments and profound character revelations in the mix. This season, Suits has become so much bigger than Mike Ross (Patrick J Adams) and Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht).

Conleth Hill and Michelle Fairley, who are known as Lord Varys and Catelyn Stark in Game of Thrones, respectively, have each done a fantastic job on Suits Season 3. Their Suits characters came face to face in "Endgame" and the scene was so wonderfully compelling.

When Fairley's Ava Hessington b*tchslaps Hill's Edward Darby, Game of Thrones fans cheered for the Starks. This is not necessarily good or bad for Suits. One, having the GoT actors helped the show showcase the acting mettle of their own. In all scenes where Gina Torres or Gabriel Macht would confront Fairley or Hill, emotions run high and the small TV screen becomes larger than life.

"Endgame" comes as a relief and a gratifying episode. The Ava Hessington case has dragged on long enough in Suits Season 3, Episode 8. Even Donna's Stevie dalliance is over. And when it's time to tell Stephen Huntley he's fired, Donna enjoyed the honors.

Strike Edward Darby's name on the door. He can no longer practice law in New York. But what about Harvey Specter's name - does it get to stay after his "coup" attempt?

Breaking down Suits Season 3, so far: Donna Paulsen gets a life and loses her "Mentalist" powers. She cries no fake tears this time, driving Harvey mad enough to beat the sh*t out of her rugby playing, scheming ex-lover. Mike Ross and Katrina Bennett (Amanda Schull) call a truce. Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman) loses and gains back the first year associates, and earns an honest friend in Rachel Zane (Meghan Markle). Harvey and Jessica begin the season from messed up perspectives, but now they're on the same side again - or so it seems.

How do all these Suits Season 3 developments figure in the final two weeks of the chapter? Fans tune in to USA next week (Sept. 10) for the season's penultimate episode. Check out the slideshow to see what Suits fans are posting to Tumblr.
