Loyal comicbook fans of The Joker were reportedly left scratching their heads when they saw Jared Leto’s version of the comic villain in “Suicide Squad.” The actor’s character representation did involve the iconic green hair and red lips, but fans also wondered whether the actor will be sporting the tattoos on film.

Movie Pilot claimed there’s nothing to fret over Jared Leto’s recent image as The Joker. The photo, which features the actor adorned with numerous tattoos of differing sizes and varying texts, from “Damaged” to “Hahaha,” reportedly received a lot of fan backlash. However, the site noted an insider’s tweet confirming the tattoos are not part of the actor’s version of The Joker in “Suicide Squad.”

Gabriel Gray, said to be from the entertainment/movie industry, claimed the photo was only a promotional picture and in no way is directly related to David Ayer’s film. Jared Leto’s look in the photo, with the green hair, red lips and purple gloves, is believed to be not the final look of the villain in “Suicide Squad.”

“Here’s something that might be of interest to you comicbook fans. The promo picture of Leto in SuicideSquad isn’t what he’ll look like,” Gray said on his post.

Movie Pilot further shared a photo of the actor while on set of the film. Jared Leto’s face is devoid of any tattoos, especially the “Damaged” text tattoo on his forehead. This further lends credence to Gray’s statements about The Joker not showing any tattoos in “Suicide Squad.”

Jared Leto was also once spotted showing his version of The Joker’s makeup to someone while on set of the movie. Screenrant shared a photo of the actor while he was showing his character’s look to the person seated beside him. Although a little blurry, anyone could make out the green hair and red lips seen on The Joker’s face.

The same photo reportedly also gave a look at The Joker’s costume in “Suicide Squad.” Jared Leto could be seen wearing what Screenrant thought resembled the villain’s suit in “The Dark Knight Returns.” It supposedly resembles the suit from Frank Miller’s original artwork for the villain as seen in the photo shared by the site.
