Jared Leto has long been rumoured to have a role in David Ayer's adaptation of "Suicide Squad." Previous reports claim he's been cast to play as the Joker. However, the actor/singer has repeatedly declined to comment during his previous interviews. His recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter is no exception but he may have also indirectly confirmed the rumours.

According to Josh Wilding over at Comicbookmovie, Jared Leto's The Hollywood Reporter interview could have confirmed the rumours of his involvement with the DC comics adaptation. Leto gave a succinct reply when quizzed about the persisting speculations of his role as the Joker in "Suicide Squad." According to THR all the Thirty Seconds To Mars frontman said was "I've sworn to keep my mouth shut."

Wilding claims his response only hints that he has a role in the superhero movie. It's reportedly like Paul Rudd declining to comment on being cast in "Ant-Man" but ended up with the title role.

"You know how when an actor refuses to comment on a high profile role and then ends up being cast? Well, based on the latest (very brief) comments from Jared Leto in response to reports that he'll show up in Suicide Squad as The Joker, he's definitely gonna be the latest Clown Prince of Crime...," Wilding said.

This wouldn't be the first time Jared Leto declined to comment on his involvement with "Suicide Squad." Talking to MTV News the actor even cited "the first rule" from his "Fight Club" movie. According to THR the rule is not talking about Fight Club, which Leto wishes to follow regarding his rumoured role as the Joker.

Jared Leto may or may not have any involvement with "Suicide Squad" but it doesn't mean he hasn't considered going back to acting again. The singer told THR that "he has been reading scripts and weighing up a return to acting" after spending time with his band. Additionally, it was supposedly his Oscar win that prompted him to reconsider. Jared Leto won Best Supporting Actor for his role as a transvestite in "The Dallas Buyers Club."

Jared Leto with the role of the Joker in "Suicide Squad" remains unconfirmed. But his THR interview only fueled the speculations if based on some of the Twitter reactions below.
