‘Suicide Squad' casting: Jim Parrack's role accidentally confirmed

It’s long been rumoured that Jim Parrack would play Deathstroke in “Suicide Squad.” However, one of the film’s cast members may have just revealed that the actor will take on the role of Johnny Frost.

Corina Calderon, who has a brief appearance in “Suicide Squad,” shared an Instagram post that accidentally revealed Parrack’s character in the film. Calderon shared her photo along with the caption, “Eeeee All #HappyCamper on my way to set again, going earlier than my #CallTime just to be there and watch my boy Jim Parrack playing #JohnnyFrost do his Thang #SuicideSquad.”

The photo , which Batman-News posted, has since been deleted from her Instagram page. This leads to the credibility of her confirmation on Parrack’s role as Johnny Frost in “Suicide Squad,” according to Cinema Blend.

Jeff Sneider on his Meet the Movie Press podcast had previously reported that Parrack would be playing the role of Johnny Frost. Comic Book claims Sneider refuted rumours the actor will play the role of Deathstroke, after Parrack shared a photo of the character’s mask on his Instagram.

In the DC Comic Universe, Johnny Frost is known as one of The Joker’s henchmen. The Joker took an instant liking to Frost and hired him as his chauffeur. In the 2008 comic novel “Joker” written by Brian Azzarello, Frost helped DC’s Clown Prince of Crime escape Arkham Asylum and also became his ally, assisting him on his reign of terror. He is described by Comic Vine as a low-level and ambitious thug who once saved The Joker’s life during a scuffle with some cops hired by Harvey Dent.

Batman-News also shared a screen grab taken from the “Suicide Squad” trailer that somehow supports Parrack’s role as Johnny Frost. In the scene, the actor is leading The Joker down a hallway. However, whether the live-version interpretation of the character will take inspiration from the comics is still uncertain.

Cinema Blend has also previously reported on Parrack taking the role of Deathstroke in “Suicide Squad.” The “True Blood” star has been rumoured for the part since January. If Parrack is indeed playing Johnny Frost, then Deathstroke may be played by either Joe Manganiello or Scott Eastwood, who are also rumoured for the role.
