Street Fighter V
"Street Fighter V" is coming to the PS4 and PC on Feb. 16. PlayStation Blog

Leading to the Feb. 16 launch, Capcom has been announcing some new launch-related things. Apart from the onslaught of character intros for the 16 characters at launch, there are also some launch event details, as specified below.

Besides that, Capcom’s Yoshinori Ono had taken to Twitter to answer some fan questions about the upcoming game. Based on his response, Ono appears to be hinting that the 16-character starter lineup and the additional six DLC characters is far from the end of “Street Fighter V.”

DualShockers has compiled a couple of Ono’s answers to fan queries regarding the different characters for “Street Fighter V.” Possible characters that Ono touched on includes Sakura, Ingrid and Sagat, but each with potential changes or possible development discussions in the meantime. Evil Ryu is also a possibility if fans are also on the same page of wanting him back for “Street Fighter V.”

To celebrate the launch date of “Street Fighter V,” Capcom has also announced via its official blog that the launch will also feature a free special launch party at the Folsom Street Foundry. Held the day before on Feb. 15, the party will pit hip-hop artist Lupe Fiasco against fighting game legend Daigo Umehara. The exhibition match will be the highlight of the event, running from 7:45 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. PST.

Technically, the launch event will start at 5:00, and this will encompass the undercard exhibitions and the Lupe vs. Daigo exhibition match. This is for the VIP and press admissions only. Capcom has also detailed how VIP members will be chosen. The first 50 people who are already at the door of the event will be able to watch the exhibition matches live.

From 9:00 p.m. PST to midnight, the doors will open for general admission. Capcom has promised some game setups and other festivities will be available. Admission is restricted to fans who are 21 years and older.

Still, for those who are not looking to watch the exhibition matches live, there’s also a GameStop midnight launch event from 8:30 to 10:00 p.m. The two exhibition contenders Lupe and Diago will make a special appearance at the GameStop event and will be handing out copies of the game for those who are first in line.

For now, fans can enjoy some new character introductions for Rashid, M Bison Rainbow Mika, Cammy and Ryu. These were introduced over the weekend, and as usual, the videos showcase a quick background of the character, a showcase of their V-Skill and V-Trigger and the advantages of choosing a particular fighter.
