"Gone Girl's" team Ben Affleck and David Fincher have once again teamed up for a new film called "Strangers." The hit actor-director duo has planned to reboot the classic Alfred Hitchcock's film "Strangers on a Train." However, the story of the film will vary from the original. The "Gone Girl" author Gillian Flynn is expected to write the film, which is set in present time.

The film will tell the story of a reigning film star whose plane breaks down during an Oscar campaign. He takes a ride from a wealthy businessman to reach Los Angeles. This leads to his life taking a new turn. Affleck will play the film star. Meanwhile, Hitchcock's film revolves around two strangers who are planning to kill someone. They meet on a train and exchange their targets.

According to Deadline, the plan to remake the film has been in the pipeline for some time. Warner Bros. have clinched the deal and there are a lot of expectations from the film. Affleck has reportedly cleared his busy film schedule to shoot for "Strangers." He is currently tied up with some high-profile projects, including Warner Bros' "The Accountant" and also plans to act and direct in adaptation of Dennis Lehane's book "Live by Night" The actor will play the lead role in "The Accountant," which is based on Bill Dubuque's original script. It will feature Affleck as a boring accountant who also works as an assassin.

Meanwhile, it is expected that "Strangers" will be as successful at the box office as Fincher's directed "Gone Girl." The thriller, which was made at a budget of USD $60 million, grossed USD $350 million worldwide. The film proved to be a huge success for Affleck and it also earned four Golden Globe nominations, including Best Director for Fincher and Best Actress-Drama for Rosamund Pike.

Affleck is currently shooting for Zack Snyder's upcoming film "Batman v Superman: The Dawn of Justice." In the film, he plays Batman. He has reportedly bulked up for the film."He has put on 30 pounds of muscle and he's 8 percent body fat. He looks pretty good," said Affleck's wife, Jennifer Garner, speaking about actor's physique on "Live with Kelly & Michael," as quoted by Daily Mail.
