As the year comes to a close, the world gets closer and closer to the second season of the Netflix original series “Stranger Things.” And while the actual release date remains a mystery, the show’s producer, Shawn Levy, has closed some items on the upcoming series.

Netflix recently released a photo of the cast during a table read, which only proved that “Stranger Things” season 2 has already begun production. However, Levy made it clear in his interview with ScreenRant that anything surround the plot, storyline or character development of the show will be kept under wraps. The producer was adamant that keeping the upcoming season a mystery will be for the betterment of the fans.

“I’m going to be very judicious when it comes to talking about ‘Stranger Things,’” he said. “Because I live in the land of spoiler paranoia these days.” Levy then went on to confirm that three new actors will join the set -- two of whom are relatively known and one who is not.

“All I’m going to tell you about season 2,” he said before composing himself. “Look, as much as people are dying to know what happened, I think the reason ‘Stranger Things’ has become the phenomenon it has is because no one knew what was coming. No one knew, frankly -- much like ‘The Force Awakens.’ I think there’s this delicious torture in not knowing.”

While Levy was careful not to give any real details away, he was very vocal about how he thought things were looking on set. He admitted that he was very excited after hearing the table read of the first half of season 2. “We have some very interesting ideas cooking,” he said.

“Stranger Things” season 2 is scheduled for release sometime in 2017. The show will be available for streaming on Netflix Australia.
