Episode 11 of season 2 of “The Strain” gave viewers a look at Eichorst’s (Richard Sammel) past. It also proved Fet’s (Kevin Durand) affections toward Dutch (Ruta Gedmintas) as he, along with Eph (Corey Stoll) and Nora (Mia Maestro), tirelessly searched for her all over New York City.

Episode 11, titled “Dead End,” picks up from where episode 10 ended, with Dutch bound by chains inside Eichorst’s torture chamber or the “White Room.” Dutch is unharmed but in fear as she watches Eichorst force a policeman to drink a bottle of schnapps before he “drinks” from him. He then wrings the man’s neck to prevent him from turning into a strigoi and tells Dutch that “every once in a while he enjoys a human cocktail” since it relaxes him.

Meanwhile, Setrakian (David Bradley) wakes up to consciousness and finds himself tied to a chair. He meets a familiar face, Rudyard Fonescu, the young boy whom he saved in the vampire massacre in a nunnery in Austria in 1966. Before his death in episode 10 of “The Strain,” the cardinal had informed Setrakian that David holds the Occido Lumen, and the cardinal wasn’t lying about it. However, instead of turning over the book to Setrakian, Rudyard takes the book with him and leaves Setrakian still bound to the chair. Fortunately, Setrakian was able to break free after Rudyard left.

Back in the “White Room,” Eichorst continues to scare Dutch. He smells her hair and tells her that the scent of her shampoo reminds him of a woman he knew he couldn’t possess. A flashback to Eichorst’s human years is then shown, which, according to Comicbook, was in 1931. Eichorst is seen making a poor job at being a door-to-door salesman of radios. Viewers were introduced to his love interest Helga, whom Eichorst betrayed due to his thirst for power.

Learning of Helga being a German Jew gave Eichorst leverage as a high-ranking Nazi official; however, it also caused Helga’s life. Eichorst feels remorse as he sees her dead body hanging from a tree after he declined to reveal that they once dated and after lying that Helga was once accused of stealing money.

Meanwhile, Fet, Eph and Nora continue their search for Dutch and finds a way to get inside Mayfair Hotel where Dutch was taken. Fortunately, as they were running up the stairs, they heard Dutch’s screams from behind the brick walls. Dutch was able to escape from the “White Room” after she found a pepper spray from the dead policeman and used it on Eichorst. However, it was a “Dead End” for Dutch’s escape as she realised the exits were all boarded up with bricks.

Fet blows up a dynamite and enters the hotel just as Dutch was being dragged back to the “White Room.” Fet throws a silver grenade at them, scaring Eichorst, leading him to let go of Dutch. Dutch is free and still trembling in fear as Fet cradles her in his arms.

Episode 11 of Season 2 of “The Strain” ended with Rudyard selling the Occido Lumen to the same dealer whom Setrakian paid with his watch to search for the Lumen.
