Season 2 of “The Strain” is on its way to reveal a lot more gore and terror as clearly defined in its premiere episode, entitled “BK NY.” During a press interview ahead of their appearance at the Hall H panel at the San Diego Comic-Con, the casts of the vampire series teased what fans should expect to see in the coming episodes.

Season 1 of “The Strain” has somehow already teased a possible romance happening between Vasiliy Vet and Dutch (Ruta Gedmintas). Apparently, their relationship will be further explored in Season 2. According to Collider, Ruta Gedmintas, who plays as Dutch, had somehow confirmed her character’s budding romance with Vet during the press interview. But the actress declined to reveal any more details and instead said, “The relationship is explored but that’s about all I can say.”

Kevin Durand on the other hand had a lot to say about his character’s affections towards Dutch. Durand, who plays Vasiliy Vet said, “It’s the first time that he looks at a woman and is kind of like, wow! She’s kind of like me, female incarnate.” Collider added that “Vasiliy will be both thrown off and excited by these feelings and they’re going to embark on an interesting journey together.”

Episode 2 of Season 2 of “The Strain” will see Dutch and Vasiliy Vet paired together. According to TV Guide , the next episode entitled “By Any Means” will show Vet and Dutch grow closer as they are tasked to make sure that the neighborhood buildings are free of any vampires.

Season 2 of “The Strain” will also explore Dutch’s other abilities aside from being a skilled hacker. According to Collider, the new season will show her as a “badass” character as she joins the gang in their fight against the vampires. Ruta Gedmintas said there will be one “really, really dark” episode that will highlight Dutch’s skills. However, the actress didn’t provide any more details nor reveal which episode in Season 2. In terms of preparation for her new developed skills, Gedmintas revealed that she had to train with stunt coordinators to help her look like she knew what she was doing.
