Now that the cat is out of the bag, all WWE chairman Vince McMahon would have to do is preserve the legacy and make the most out of 55-year-old Sting's appearance in the ring. The former WCW champion finally made his debut at the recently concluded Survivor Series which was rumoured to supposedly happen months ago.

Sting has been gracing events for the WWE such as the San Diego Comic Convention and was also included as a playable character in the WWE 2K15 game. The said incidents had led many to believe that the Crow-like wrestler was set to debut months back at Night of Champions or at Hell in Cell last October. While no reasons have been made public on the delay of his debut, the fan reception last weekend was encouraging enough that the wrestling outfit is already considering the next fights for the masked persona.

As reported by PWInsider.com, Sting has inked a performer's contract that will guarantee a couple of matches for the veteran wrestler. The same report also explained that Sting will be limited to teaser appearances first, leading up to a main event. The Survivor Series appearance will likely dictate a next face-off with Triple H. Sting's interference at the latest pay-per-view event resulted in the win for Team Cena and more importantly, wrested control of the weekly RAW event from The Authority headed by Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.

This makes for a great story line of Triple H hounding Sting for some payback. It would make sense for triple H and Sting to go at it verbally during random RAW and Smackdown appearances before they join the legion of fighters at Royal Rumble, a pre-cursor for Wrestlemania. While Sting has long said that he prefers to fight The Undertaker, the health of the legendary player leaves question marks on the possibility of the match at the year's biggest event.

Brock "The Beast Incarnate" Lesnar is likely on the way out with multiple reports saying that the current heavyweight champion is leaning on a return to the Ultimate Fighting Championship. It would make some sense to either hand over the belt to a trusted name such as Sting or a rising prodigy like Roman Reigns.

For now, everything remains to be seen for the WWE which has a lot of options in its cards. It is no secret the WWE is in a bit of financial trouble with the sub-par launch of the WWE Network and has made it more obvious by making the channel free this November including the Survivor Series. The debut of sure-fire Hall of Famer Sting could not come at a better time to help McMahon and the WWE rise from the doldrums.
