According to multiple sources, Aerosmith front man Steven Tyler broke his face, which was due to a small accident in a hotel bathroom in Paraguay. He is said to have knocked out several of his teeth in the process.

A hotel bellboy, Gustavo Perez, where Tyler was staying, noted that the singer slipped while he was taking a bath and had a "nasty fall".

ABC, the country's largest newspaper, reported that he was brought to the nearest hospital in Asuncion La Costa medical center. The hospital took about almost four hours to stitch the cuts he got near his eyebrow and mouth. Tyler also lost two of his teeth and had emergency dental work done.

After he was discharged, he was said to be in good condition but was forced to rest at the Bourbon, the hotel where he is staying as of now.

In addition to this, Tyler is reported also to have been dehydrated and suffering from gastrointestinal problems, as announced via Twitter by Nicolas Garzia, head of the firm who organized the gig.

The Paraguay leg is part of a planned tour, Back on the Road, which spans Latin America and Japan. His band was scheduled to perform starting yesterday, but that day's show (Tuesday) was cancelled to make way for a brief recovery.

One of the concert organizers, Marcelo Antunez, told that the Tuesday show had to be postponed. "Mr. Tyler had a small accident that prevents him from staging the concert tonight...he is fine, he's in his hotel but he's not able to do the concert," he said.

It can be recalled that band cancelled their 2009 North American tour after he fell of the stage and broke his shoulder in South Dakota. This has intensified tensions within the band, and they even threatened Tyler to be replaced.

In 2010, he fell off the stage again, this time at Toronto's Air Canada Center, when guitarist Joe Perry backed into him by surprise.

As of press time, Tyler was in relatively good condition, which he is expected to be as they go along the course of the tour until December.

Meanwhile, take a look at the singer's transition throughout the years.
