Cast members, crew, and other famous faces attend the much-awaited Hollywood premiere of "Captain America: The First Avenger" in Hollywood's El Capitan Theatre.

Lead actor Chris Evans, along with cast members Robert Downey Jr. and Samuel L. Jackson attended the premiere of Captain America: The First Avenger, the latest Marvel comic to be given life on the big screen. When asked about what he thinks about the iconic superhero, actor Chris Evans has nothing but praises to say. "I think he's a pretty direct guy and I think the way that I try to navigate all this noise is by being honest" claims Evans in an interview posted on ABC local.

According to cast member and Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr, Captain America is well loved by many and he only hopes for the movie to give the hero justice. "I think of all the Marvel characters, the one that had the biggest likelihood of kind of maybe being embarrassing if it wasn't executed correctly is Captain America, I can't wait to see it because people that I know in the inside track said it really did turn out well, they worked really hard and Chris delivered" says Downey Jr in the same ABC local post.

The movie is based on the popular Marvel comic about a superhero out to defend America during the World War II. Steve Rogers (Evans) is the product of years and years of military experiments to develop a biological weapon for a US Army Super Soldier program. After the government has decided that the new "super soldier" is too expensive to put into action, they send him to Europe, boosting the morale of US troops by performing shows and the like. When a Nazi plot has been revealed that threatens the loss of America during the war, the super solder is forced to become Captain America. Captain America easily won over the public with his warm personality and superpower skill that helped America achieve victory. After being sent to Germany to defeat his nemesis The Red Skull, Captain America is frozen in ice, only to be unfrozen six decades later. Now that he's back, he must join the rest of the Avengers to continue fighting evil forces and save as many citizens as possible.

Captain America: The First Avenger premieres on July 22 in USA, and on July 28 in Australia.
