The former Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano will return in “Star Wars Rebels” season 4, the voice actress of the character confirmed in a recent interview. Meanwhile, the first trailer has been released, teasing some of the scenes and events the fans will soon get to see on the show. The following article contains spoilers.

“You’ll see Ahsoka again,” Ashley Eckstein told Yahoo. The character was last seen battling Darth Vader (Voice by James Earl Jones) in “Twilight of the Apprentice” in the second season. The fate of the character was not revealed after that on the show.

“I want to know more about Ahsoka’s future as this kind of neutral character,” Eckstein said. She pointed out that her character’s lightsabers are white, which represent her current allegiance, which is neither Jedi nor Sith and she isn’t exactly a rebel either. This makes the character’s storyline interesting, especially with the main Skywalker saga in the movies taking a turn towards the middle ground between the two opposing factions.

Eckstein also commented on Luke’s line from the trailer that spoke about the Jedi needing to end. This is in line with Ahsoka, and is the reason why she managed to survive the purge of the Jedi. More details about what direction the franchise is taking the whole Jedi and Sith question may be revealed in “Star Wars Rebels” season 4.

The first trailer of the next season showed how the fight against the Empire continues, despite the losses and setbacks they have faced. The Rebels will set up a new base in the jungle of Yavin 4. The fans will also get to see familiar planets like Lothal, where the story of Ezra Bridger (Voice by Taylor Gray) began.

The Mandalorian storyline will also come into focus, with Sabine’s (Voice by Tiya Sircar) clan attempting to unite all the factions using the Darksaber. The road to unification is a long one, and the trailer teases more battles between factions.

While the Rebels have had their problems fighting the Empire, they have a new ally to aid them in their cause. Agent Kallus (Voice by David Oyelowo), who finally switched sides in the last season, will be back to fight the Empire. The former Imperial officer will now fight in the open with his friends.

New characters will be introduced in “Star Wars Rebels” season 4. For now, the main villain continues to be Grand Admiral Thrawn (Voice by Lars Mikkelsen).
