The team behind the popular Disney animation series have said that “Star Wars Rebels” season 4 will have better graphics, as they will be trying new techniques of making the show. They also teased details about the plot and the introduction of new characters. The following article contains minor spoilers.

In the latest episode of Rebels Recon [see video below], Co-executive Producer Henry Gilroy explained that Grand Admiral Thrawn’s (Voice by Lars Mikkelsen) victories come from his ability to analyse tactics and deducing the enemy’s strategy. This has given the villain a lot of success, but in his final interaction with The Bendu (Voice by Tom Baker) he is told that he is destined to face defeat.

Bendu’s prediction is based on intuition, something which Thrawn doesn’t really use. Executive Producer Dave Filoni teased that this scene reveals the villain’s weakness, but he is not sure that it is clear to the viewers what that weakness is.

When it comes to “Star Wars Rebels” season 4, Bendu will be back. Producer Carrie Beck said that the viewers have to keep in mind that the character is still the one in the middle, between the darkness of the Sith and the light of the Jedi. This aspect of the character will continue to be important as the story progresses.

In “Zero Hour” the fans saw the Death Troopers. The new Imperial unit was introduced in the first spin-off film “Rogue One.” Viewers can expect more such elements in the next season of the show, as the team tries to ensure there is continuity between different projects from the franchise.

The team members also teased that they are working on some techniques that they have never tried before. This is expected to make the show look “beautiful” and “epic.” Story Group team member Pablo Hidalgo pointed out that Ezra Bridger’s (Voice by Taylor Gray) story began in Lothal, with him planning to liberate the planet from Empire’s control. The team has not forgotten about that, so the fans can expect to be taken back to this planet.

Mon Mothma (Voice by Genevieve O’Reilly) will be back in “Star Wars Rebels” season 4, along with Saw Gerrera (Voice by Forest Whitaker). The fans will get to see how the relationship between these two characters breaks down. The Mandalore storyline will also continue, Filoni said. The producer also pointed out that the animation series will finish many of the stories of “Clone Wars,” even though this was not intended.
