The team behind “Star Wars Rebels” Season 3 has revealed that the Mandalorians are not done yet, and will play a big role in the future as the story continues. Events of the previous episode have elevated Sabine in the eyes of the Rebel Alliance, who may use her talents in new ways going forward.

[Spoiler alert]

In a new video posted on the official YouTube channel of the franchise, Taylor Gray (voice of Ezra Bridger) said that after the encounter with the Mandalorians there is a whole new respect for Sabine (Tiya Sircar). The Rebels were able to win over Fenn Rau (Kevin McKidd), and this is expected to have a big impact on the fight against the Empire.

With the Mandalorian joining hands with the Rebels, Gray explains that the Rebels realise that Sabine can help out in more ways than one. Lucasfilm story group member Pablo Hidalgo explained that “Star Wars Rebels” Season 3 gave them the opportunity to explore what it was like to have the Empire on Mandalore and also look at some back story of the young Rebel and her connection to her home world.

On the question of what it means for the leader of Mandalore to join the Rebels, Co-executive Producer Henry Gilroy explained how Sabine has been so important to the team so far. So, bringing in another warrior from her home world can only help the cause.

“Fenn is a friend to a fighting force that we know is highly skilled, well equipped and capable, which is something the Rebels are always in need of,” Hidalgo explained. The question now is whether the Rebels can use their new friend to recruit the others against the Empire.

So, the Mandalorian storyline is set to continue in “Star Wars Rebels” Season 3 at some point. The next few episodes will focus on the fight against the Empire and the last two episodes will once again look at the relationship between Ezra and Darth Maul (Sam Witwer).
