Thrawn proves why he is such a menacing villain in the preview video of “Star Wars Rebels” Season 3 episode 9. The heroes will be back in Lothal with yet another dangerous mission aimed at undermining the rule of the Empire.

[Spoiler alert]

The animation TV series previously showed why the Empire’s training methods of the Stormtroopers was lacking and leads to inefficient soldiers. Now, the next episode will reveal why they have substandard equipment as well.

A preview video of the next episode (see below) shows Grand Admiral Thrawn (Voice by Lars Mikkelsen) inspecting the work done at a factory in Lothal. Ezra Bridger (Taylor Gray) has managed to sneak into the Empire’s facility and pose as a worker.

One of the speeders built at the factory appears to be below standard. The worker who was supposed to inspect the vehicle will have to demonstrate the performance of the speeder in front of everyone.

Thrawn is a through professional, and has the habit of checking the background of his people as well as the enemies. “Star Wars Rebels” Season 3 episode 9 preview video reveals how people across the galaxy are forced to join the Empire’s workforce after losing everything they have.

Despite the circumstances in which people had to join the Empire, Thrawn expects them to perform in their duties. Failure to do so is not acceptable. In the video he knows the speeder is defective, but continues the demonstration to prove a point to the others.

“Star Wars Rebels” Season 3 episode 9 may be the last episode in which Thrawn may be seen this year. The last two episodes will focus on Ezra attempting to sever his connection to Darth Maul (Voice by Sam Witwer). It is not clear if Agent Kallus (David Oyelowo) will be featured in this episode.
