The Empire may be dead, and the First Order trying to take its place, but the shadow of Palpatine will be felt in “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.” The upcoming canon novel of the franchise set in a timeline just before “The Force Awakens” will reveal the plan of the late Emperor.

The following article contains spoilers from the upcoming Rian Johnson film. Readers who do not wish to know anything about the film are advised to stop here.

“The Force Awakens” introduced the new desert planet Jakku. This is where the protagonist Rey (Daisy Ridley) was left when she was just a child. The planet is the main focus of the “Aftermath” book series, which has its final book “Empire’s End” releasing this month.

Palpatine apparently made preparations for the eventuality of him being removed from power. One of his loyal supporters Gallius Rax was entrusted with the execution of this plan. The impact of this deadly plan is said to be felt for years to come.

The book also promises a surprising reappearance of the character from the prequel trilogy. There is also the tease of a family reunion. The plot of the book will contain some hints and background information about the events in “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.”

Meanwhile, Mike Zeroh has uncovered an interesting report online. The report suggests that Benicio Del Toro will be playing the role of a character named Sir Vicrum Fett. The name first appeared on the website WikiWand. What is interesting is that the name has now been replaced with TBA.

If the report turns out to be accurate, then the fans will get to meet another Fett in the new trilogy. The bounty hunter Jango Fett appeared in the prequels, and his son Boba was a well liked character from the original trilogy.

Will Del Toro play Boba’s son? However, the title Sir in the name suggests that this may not be a bounty hunter, and may not be related to characters that the fans love so much. There has been a lot of speculation and “leaks” about the character the actor will be playing in the film, but there has been no official confirmation or concrete information yet.

More details are expected at the Celebrations event in Orlando, where Producer Kathleen Kennedy and Director Johnson will be present. The first trailer of “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” is also expected at this event.
