Details about a necklace that Luke Skywalker will reportedly wear in “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” have surfaced online. The name of the alien birds that are native to Ahch-To has also been revealed. Meanwhile, cast member John Boyega pranked some of the fans of the franchise by photobombing them. The following article contains spoilers.

Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) will be wearing a necklace with a red Kyber crystal in the upcoming film, Making Star Wars reports. The Jedi Master is said to be protecting this crystal, and will be seen wearing it around his neck. The necklace is compared to a wooden dog whistle.

It is not clear what the story is behind this Kyber crystal, and it is also not known if the movie will explore this aspect of Luke. The report speculates that this could be a remnant of Darth Vader’s powerful lightsaber. Kyber crystals form an essential part of a lightsaber, and are also responsible for the colour they emit.

Bringing another Darth Vader connection in “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” will be a challenge in terms of storytelling. The Sith Lord’s lightsaber was lost in the final duel in “Return of the Jedi,” and may have been destroyed along with the second Death Star.

Another report by Making Star Wars reveals the name of the native birds of Ahch-To to be Porgs. The movie will reportedly feature recently hatched birds, and there will also be a touching scene of the Porgs with Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew). The report reveals an emotional reunion of Chewbacca and R2 D2 with Luke Skywalker.

Meanwhile, John Boyega (Finn) took the time to interact with the fans at the Celebrations event. The actor sneaked up on the fans while they were having their pictures taken. After quietly photobombing them, he shared a laugh with the surprised fans.

The teaser trailer of the upcoming film has already been released. The plot will focus on the continued journey of Rey, as she begins her training to become a Jedi, under the guidance of Luke Skywalker on Ahch-To. Meanwhile, the First Order will regroup and plan their counter attack. There is also the parallel journey of Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), who is expected to finish his training under the guidance of Supreme Leader Snoke (Andy Serkis).

“Star Wars: The Last Jedi” is expected to reveal what forced Luke to go into a self imposed exile for so many years, and what he has been doing on Ahch-To all this time. The film is slated to be released on Dec. 14 in Australia.
