Fans are eagerly waiting to see the teaser trailer for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." The preview has since been confirmed for a Thanksgiving release and below are the names of the theatres scheduled to play the film's sneak peek.

Deadline posted the note from Bad Robot confirming the teaser release of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" on Thanksgiving weekend. Written on the note is movie director J.J. Abrams' invitation for fans to preview the trailer on theatres. On a post-note, Abrams also confirmed the teaser will be 88 seconds long.

"A tiny peek at what we're working on--this Friday in select theaters. Hope you enjoy and have the most excellent Thanksgiving," he wrote.

Disney has released the list of 30 North American theatres playing the teaser for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" on Thanksgiving weekend. Courtesy of Deadline, the locations of these theatres are listed below.

No further details have been provided on the exact time the teaser will be played. However, as per Deadline, this is not the first time a "Star Wars" movie released its trailer in theatres. 20th Century Fox reportedly also brought the 1998 "The Phantom Menace" to 75 theatres across the country and had scheduled it for a before- and after-screening.

Additionally, it's still uncertain how many days the teaser will be played in the selected theatres. J.J. Abrams on his note only confirmed a Friday preview. However, according to Makingstarwars, Regal Cinemas claimed the trailer will be played for three days. It will supposedly start on Friday, Nov. 28, until Sunday, Nov. 30. Regal Cinemas reportedly first leaked the theatre locations and even revealed that the sneak preview is scheduled for a screening before every movie played in the theatres.

The 88-second teaser for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" will only feature a montage of the movie's characters. According to the International Business Times, one of these characters includes the main villain. The villain will supposedly be dressed in a mask described to be a mix of Darth Revan's mask in "Knights of the Old Republic" and that of the red-coloured Imperial Guards from "Return of the Jedi." However, this information will soon be confirmed with the theatre release of the trailer on Thanksgiving.
