Whether or not Luke Skywalker would sport a long beard in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” has been in every fan’s mind ever since Mark Hamill appeared in numerous photos with a bushy beard. Previous reports also claim the Jedi Master set himself in self-exile in the movie, with one person finally discovering him in his refuge inside a cave. What goes on inside the cave upon his discovery and how Luke will look like in the film may have just been possibly revealed.

Jason Ward from MakingStarWars has released a spoiler-rich report about “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” consisting of emails he’s received from an anonymous source. This information still warrants confirmation from Lucasfilm or Disney. However, one of the details revealed pertains to one supposed scene in the movie that gives a description on how Luke Skywalker looks like. "This Luke is wizened but crazed, his eyes twitch and are bloodshot, his robe is tattered, ripped and his beard is scraggy and his hair grey and long,” the source said. According to the source, Luke Skywalker also has a robotic hand with a burnt mark that reveals his hand’s robotic mechanisms. His beard is also coloured grey.

This first proper look at the Jedi Master reportedly happens during his introduction in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” during a confrontation scene inside his place of refuge where he has exiled himself. This scene supposedly happens while he is guarding a tomb that holds an ancient Sith Lord, whom the source supposed may turn out to be Darth Plagues The Wise.

Luke Skywalker’s introduction reportedly sees him first huddled against a wall, when he sees and hears an approaching figure call out his name that made him cower to his knees somewhat in fear. The “disembodied voice” continues to speak, goading and telling him he's failed and asking him if he’s felt the “struggle with the darkside and the light.” The foreboding voice continues to threaten him until Luke hears a familiar voice that finally made him stand up and approach the tomb he’s guarding. However, the disembodied voice warns the Jedi Master that he is his only choice and that “they will all die.” Luke then screams out with his arms outstretched and begs the voice to stop. He lights up his lightsaber and underneath its green glow reveals a glimpse at an older Luke Skywalker. The confrontation reportedly ends with the sound of footsteps and the lighting of a second lightsaber, revealing its red glow in a pool of water near the tomb.

According to a previous report from the International Business Times Australia, Luke Skywalker exiled himself for fear of the harm he may inflict on anyone because of his strong powers. He’s said to be more powerful than the force, making him more like a wizard than a lightsaber-wielding Jedi Master. However, per Jason Ward Luke has been missing since he’s been guarding the tomb from being opened by the villain Kylo Ren.
