The Greenham Common location of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is believed to be the main setup location for the Pirates Cove. The rebel base's exterior was reportedly filmed at the location and a report has the details including the set names representing the Cove and their corresponding description.

Jason Ward over at Makingstarwars has come up with the conclusion that the exterior shots for the rebel base were filmed over at the Greenham Common location of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." The Pirate Cove's interior were supposedly also filmed at the UK location and were meant to represent Yavin in "A New Hope."

Ward claims the Pirates Cove in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is a mixture of the classic vibe of "A New Hope" and the complexities of the Echo Base in "The Empire Strikes Back." It's reportedly set up on a digital model of a console that has "six single units that lock together to make a control panel." These six consoles would supposedly line up in two rows of three with a single screen sitting between the rows. Ward claims the screen looks like the transparent glass from "A New Hope," which Leia was looking at during the Death Star attack. Additionally, Ward claims the rebel base is also a docking station for two X-Wings that resemble the classic fighter ships in "A New Hope." They reportedly both have the same red paint design.

Ward also lists down the set names assigned to the Pirates Cove, which include 1) Sun Terrace 2) Rose's Room 3) Walk-in Freezer 4) Map Room 5) Passageway 6) "Dusty" Back Room 7) Pier that overlooks the ocean and lastly 8) The Cliff Face. The Rose's Room is believed to have been set up for "puppetry requirements." The name Rose is even associated as a code name for "Kira," "Snow Girl" and "Fawn." Additionally, Ward claims it could be a codename for the 1950s burlesque dancer "Gypsie Rose Lee."

Ward claims the exterior of the Map Room in the Pirates Cove houses the landing pad for the Millennium Falcon. The Falcon is reportedly depicted in the Cliff Face shots as an unfinished ship as it's not entirely built. According to Ward, "the way the layout is structured, the ship would actually be hanging outside the stage." "The Falcon looks out over the cliff so I imagine they planned to shoot a shot of the cliff and the Falcon flying out over it," he added.

The Pirates Cove in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is reportedly located on the same planet with the castle. The International Business Times described the planet as an advanced city with its buildings shaped like huge stone structures that look like skyscrapers with lava lamp shape. The site even attributed the planet as the new rebel base.
