Daisy Ridley, who plays Rey in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” recently recalled her experience filming for her scenes as the Millennium Falcon pilot. The actress revealed it was no easy feat pretending to be on air and actually flying the iconic ship.

Ridley talks about her character Rey in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” in an exclusive interview with German YouTube channel Movie Maniacs. In the video below, the actress recalls her scene where she is flying the Millennium Falcon. Ridley says the filming process was “quite difficult” because it was really challenging for her to make the scene believable.

“It was quite difficult when I’m piloting the Falcon. Firstly it’s weird being alone in a space and then when it’s moving and you’re trying to make it look like you’re flying a spaceship, that’s difficult,” she says.

Ridley also talks about her experience working with movie director J.J. Abrams and the rest of the casts in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” in the same interview with Movie Maniacs. She says she’s known about her role in the film three months before official production started and was mainly told by Abrams to do physical training so she would fit her character profile as a desert scavenger.

The actress also reveals she and co-star John Boyega, who plays Finn, have great chemistry on and off-screen. “Me and John are great friends,” Ridley says with a big smile on her face, as she recalls the fun times they had filming for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

“We really really got on really well. It was fun all the time, we laughed all the time. Filming with him was great, “she tells Movie Maniacs in the video below.

Rey’s parentage in the movie is a never-ending speculation among Star Wars fans. It’s long been rumoured that she could actually be Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Princess Leia’s (Carrie Fisher) daughter. Rey piloting the Millennium Falcon is said to be a direct hint to her familial connection with Han Solo. It’s believed that Rey will eventually end up inheriting the spaceship from Han Solo in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”
