Does Snoke have some leverage over Luke Skywalker that will be revealed in “Star Wars: Episode 8”? That is the question a new theory about the movie examines. Details of why the Jedi Master was hiding on Ahch-To are yet to be revealed, and this is expected to be a big reveal in the next movie.

[Spoiler alert]

Luke Skywalkwer (Mark Hamill) was found on the planet Ahch-To in “The Force Awakens.” However, the character did not have any dialogues and it was not revealed why he was there and what he has been doing there all these years. There was a hint about the possibility of him going in search of the first Jedi Temple, but that was teased as a rumour across the galaxy and there was nothing concrete that was offered.

A new theory posted on the YouTube channel of Mike Zeroh suggests another possible reason for Luke to be hiding away on Ahch-To. According to the theory, the big revelation in “Star Wars: Episode 8” will be that Luke has a wife and she is being held captive by Supreme Leader Snoke (Andy Serkis).

Mike points out that Luke had a wife Mara Jade in “Star Wars Legends,” which is no longer a part of canon. The new storyline is yet to answer the question of whether Luke had a love interest, and if he did what happened to her?

If Luke’s wife is revealed to be a captive in the next movie, Mike explains that her rescue will be a parallel to Han Solo’s (Harrison Ford) rescue in the original trilogy.

“Star Wars: Episode 8” is slated to be released on Dec. 15, 2017 in Australia. The fans are eagerly waiting for the title of the movie to be announced soon, which will give a hint about the plot of the film.
