A new theory about “Star Wars: Episode 8” looks at the possibility of Luke Skywalker having developed some new Jedi powers over the years. The main plot of “The Force Awakens” was about finding the Jedi Master. It will be interesting to see what the character can do in the next film.

[Spoiler alert]

A theory posted on the YouTube channel of Mike Zeroh examines Mark Hamill’s (Luke Skywalker) previous comments about filming a scene involving elaborate special effects. The actor didn’t have to do anything in this scene, and the effects were supposed to be added later.

Mike looks at the possibility of this scene showcasing the new powers of Luke. The theory suggests that there will be some new power or powers of the Jedi Master that will be featured in the upcoming film. Some of the powers that the fans are already familiar with are the Jedi mind trick and the Force Push.

Will “Star Wars: Episode 8” reveal new, never before seen Jedi powers? Mike points out there have been leaks about the movie that reveal a meditation scene of Luke. In this scene, while the Jedi Master meditates on a rock, he levitates and in his vision he sees a desert planet with two suns.

Building on the leak, Mike would like to see Luke tap into the past though his visions. In terms of the new power, Mike doesn’t want something that is “too far out there” like the Jedi Master being able to destroy a planet with the flick of his finger.

Mike would like to see Luke do something with the environment in “Star Wars: Episode 8.” Another possibility is Luke having the ability to tap into someone’s mind and teaching them the ways of the Force. Mike believes that it was Luke who did the Jedi mind trick through Rey in “The Force Awakens” when she was trapped in the interrogation room.
