A new theory about “Star Wars: Episode 8” looks at how long the coma of a major character will last. It also looks at some of the elements of the plot and examines what the character will be seen doing this time around.

[Spoiler alert]

Finn (John Boyega) was grievously injured in “The Force Awakens” during the duel against Kylo Ren (Adam Driver). The character was last seen on a medical table, with a concerned Rey (Daisy Ridley) giving him a kiss before leaving on her mission.

A new video posted on the YouTube channel of Mike Zeroh looks at how long Finn will be in a coma and what his mission will be. Since there is no time gap between movies this time around, the next film will pick up from right where “The Force Awakens” left off.

So, the big question is – how long will Finn stay in a coma and when will he be ready for more action. Mike points to a rumour that suggested that one of the very first scenes in “Star Wars: Episode 8” is of Finn in a Bacta suit, which could be the upgraded version of the Bacta tank that was used to heal Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) in the original trilogy.

After his time in the Bacta suit, Finn will apparently feel better than ever. Mike expects this to happen in the first act of the film. His first mission will involve him going with Kelly Marie Tran’s character, Mike explained. The two will be working for the Resistance.

An important friendship in “The Force Awakens” was between Finn and Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac). Mike expects Poe to be off working on his own mission, and could eventually team up with Boyega’s character.

Filming of “Star Wars: Episode 8” has been completed, and it is currently in the post production phase of development. The title of the film is expected to give some hint about what the plot is going to be about.
