A new theory about Kylo Ren and Rey in “Star Wars: Episode 8” has surfaced online. The theory explains why the protagonist was quick to learn the ways of the Force, and this could be the biggest shocker of the new trilogy.

[Spoiler alert]

A new theory on the Mike Zero channel attempts to explain how Rey (Daisy Ridley) was able to learn the ways of the Force so quickly without any formal training. Mike points out that the quickest way to power is through the Dark Side, which harnesses human emotions such as anger and hate.

In one of the scenes in “The Force Awakens” Rey uses a Jedi mind trick in order to make a Stormtrooper help her escape. That was just after an emotionally charged scene with Kylo Ren (Adam Driver). Is she turning to the Dark Side?

While Rey was just beginning to understand her abilities, Kylo Ren was conflicted about fighting for the First Order. Mike’s theory is that we will see a role reversal in “Star Wars: Episode 8” with the hero turning to the Dark Side and the villain becoming one of the good guys.

The theory goes on to state that Rey would still have a redeeming quality that will pull her to the Light Side of the Force again. But, that may happen only in “Episode 9.” The next movie is expected to focus on her journey to become a Jedi under the guidance of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill).

Very few official details about “Star Wars: Episode 8” have been released so far, and the fans are still waiting to know the title of the film. Ridley said recently that it will be a while before the title is revealed to the public, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The actress had heard a title long back, but said that they may have tweaked the title she knows.
