Two concept photos for the rebel fighters' X-Wing in "Star Wars: Episode VII" have been discovered. This time, the spacecraft will reportedly be smaller in size, with a shorter nose and sleeker back.

Making Star Wars writer Jason Ward claims he's seen two concept photos of the X-Wing for "Star Wars: Episode VII." Below are the details of the ship's design, broken down from its cockpit to its engine.

The first photo revealed a classic X-Wing Fighter, the iconic ship fans have seen on previous "Star Wars" movies. However, the difference reportedly involves the cockpit's design. Whereas the classic X-Wing only allows for one pilot, the new design shows it can accommodate two. Ward claims the other seat seems "useless" in terms of a "standard combat situation."

"If you have Artoo, the second human seems redundant," he said.

However, he speculates the second pilot could have been Daisy Ridley's rumoured character, Kira. The International Business Times Australia previously reported that John Boyega's rumoured Stormtrooper character and Kira meets at the desert planet of Tatooine. Kira rescues an injured Boyega after his X-Wing crash-landed on the sandy planes. It's believed that the pair used the two-person X-Wing Fighter to leave Tatooine since Boyega's ship is a wreck.

As for the new X-Wing's engines, it supposedly resembles the Ralph McQuarrie design. Its wings separate into the classic "X" with its engines breaking into quarters. When not in the "X" position it reportedly looks like a solid circle that simply breaks into half circles.

The first photo also reveals the X-Wing Fighter in "Star Wars: Episode VII" having a shorter rear and shorter nose. The rear is reportedly shorter than Luke Skywalker's ship in "Star Wars: Episode IV." However, they both have the same painting.

The second photo on the other hand reportedly also shows a classic X-Wing Fighter. However, the only difference is the addition of boosters in the rear. The new ship consists of two big long boosters on the top and two smaller ones on the bottom. The wings still folds down to form the classic "X" shape. But a cut-out on the top wings is supposedly used to hide the smaller wings when the ship is not in battle.

"When it is in attack position, the top wings have a hole in them where the bottom wings once were," Ward said.

However, as with other leaked production details for "Star Wars: Episode VII," these new designs for the rebel fighters' ship still remains unconfirmed. Fans would apparently have to wait until these X-Wing ships actually come out in the movie.
