Not much is known about the life of one of the most iconic characters from the Star Wars universe. He became the mentor for both Luke and Anakin Skywalker, fought in the Clone Wars and went into self-exile in Tatooine. But how exactly Obi-Wan Kenobi became to be known as the hermit Ben Kenobi has not been previously revealed. The latest “Star Wars #7” will reportedly shed light on this question.

The last issue of the Star Wars comics saw Luke Skywalker travelling to the desert planes of Tatooine to retrieve the deceased Ben Kenobi’s memoir, the “Journals of Ben Kenobi.” According to Star Wars Underworld, this is the basis of “Star Wars #7” in telling the story of the Jedi Master. A flashback scene will reportedly tell Obi-Wan’s life during exile and explain how he became to be Ben-Kenobi.

According to Fansided, the flashback scene will tell Kenobi’s life when injustice still reigned in Tatooine. It would be a recollection of the traumatic events in his life “as villainous scum runs rampant over the blistering sands.” “Star Wars #7” would show the Jedi Master’s life in Tatooine where gangs, thieves and thugs have found their residence on the planet.

The site also provided some sample pages from the comic book. “Star Wars #7” is written by Jason Aaron, with art illustrations from Simone Bianchi and the comic cover courtesy of John Cassaday. Per Fansided “Star Wars #7” could be the answer to the rumoured Obi-Wan Anthology film since it is now part of the official Star Wars Canon.

An Obi-Wan Kenobi anthology film is reportedly an idea that is being explored by Lucasfilm. According to Screenrant, “Ewan McGregor’s performance as Obi-Wan Kenobi has long been cited as one of the Star Wars prequel movie trilogy’s bright spots – and there are many fans who would like to see him get his own film.” An Obi-Wan spinoff would reportedly tell a different story since it stands well apart from the other anthology films including “Star Wars: Rogue One” and the rumoured Boba Fett spinoff. “Rogue One” is about the Rebel Alliance’s plans to steal the Death Star plans while the Boba Fett film could supposedly talk about the underworld crime in the Star Wars universe.
