The first poster of “Star Trek Discovery” season 2 has been released online. The picture teases the mysterious red bursts across the galaxy that will be the main focus of the plot this time around. The poster is released just ahead of the New York Comic Con.

The trailer of season 2 teased Captain Pike (Anson Mount) taking over the Discovery, citing an imminent threat to the Federation. That threat was in the form of seven red bursts, scattered across more than 30 thousand light years. It isn’t clear what these mysterious signals are, and who is behind them. Pike will take the ship and cew to investigate just that.

The first poster that has been released online [see below] teases these mysterious red bursts, emphasising their significance. Another reason why this strange phenomenon is important is because Spock (Ethan Peck) is somehow connected to them.

Spock is an iconic character in the “Star Trek” universe. He is half-human and half-Vulcan. His work in the star ship Enterprise was expected to help bring the two worlds together.

Spock is also the foster brother of Discovery’s officer Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green). Michael will head out to help Spock, but it may take some time before the two characters meet.

The TV series has already introduced the concept of a mirror universe. It remains to be seen what new elements the show will introduce in season 2.

A team from the TV series is heading to the New York Comic Con. More details about the plot and exciting relationships and adventures may be teased during the panel discussion during the event.

“Star Trek Discovery” season 2 is set to premiere in January 2019. The producers are yet to announce an exact release date. The next trailer may be released this weekend att he New York Comic Con.
