Square Enix has detailed the new 3.1 patch coming to “Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn,” which will launch next month on Nov. 10 for PC, PS4 and PS3. The update will add some new features to the already expansive online game, including the brand new “Exploratory Missions,” new weapons to purchase or earn, and much more.

One of the new additions is the “Knights of the Round Ex,” which will be added into the game’s Primal Fights. This is expected to be the hardest Primal Fight in the game so far, as Siliconera stated that it would be more difficult to complete than the hard mode of Ultima Weapon.

Rewards come with overcoming the challenge though, as fans are expected to get “very good” weapons for completing the Primal Fight. What these weapons are haven’t been detailed, but it seems like online players should level up their characters for this combat-based challenge.

The new Exploratory Missions are interesting, as they can’t actually be completed. Players simply have 90 minutes to go on these missions and explore a new island, presumably with exclusive loot to find and monsters to kill.

Players will be able to choose the difficulty of the Exploratory Missions, including Normal, Lootmaster and All Greed, which is the most difficult setting by default. Players with an airship rank of 10 will be able to unlock an easy mode for the missions, while hard mode can be unlocked by discovering new islands in the game.

Dual Shockers also confirmed a new crossover event between “Final Fantasy XI” and “Final Fantasy XIV.” Details on the event haven’t been revealed, but it will start next month, on Nov. 11 and end on Dec. 31. It’s an interesting event considering the platforms each game is available in, though it could just be a PC event.

“Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn” is available right now for the PS4, PS3 and Windows PC. The game’s first expansion “Heavensward” was recently released as well and brings a number of new features to the acclaimed online game. “Final Fantasy XI” is available for PS2, Xbox 360 and PC.
