Kickstarter project and “Mega Man” spiritual successor “Mighty No. 9” finally has a proper release date. After numerous teases and an original release date that got delayed, “Mighty No.9” is set for a September release date this year and will have a physical release for specific consoles and a digital release for last-gen consoles and portable platforms.

The announcement was made in the official “Mighty No. 9” website, where the creators of the game announced the date, along with addressing the game’s delay from it’s original spring release. Apparently, “Mighty No. 9” developer Comcept has made a new partnership with Deep Silver, who have release a good number of popular titles like “Killer is Dead,” “Catherine” and the “Dead Island” games.

IGN notes that “Mighty No. 9” will be getting physical releases for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and the Nintendo Wii-U, while it will be getting digital releases for PS3, Xbox 360, PC, MAC and Lunix. There will also be versions for the PlayStation Vita and the Nintendo 3DS sometime after the main console versions come out.

One new feature about the game will be international voice-overs, which is one of the reasons why the game didn’t make its original spring release. Aside from the default English language track, players can also choose Japanese and French language tracks, while new international subtitles will also be available for the player’s choosing.

“Mighty No. 9” has been gaining buzz ever since the game was announced as a spiritual successor to former Capcom mascot “Mega Man.” After numerous “Mega Man” games ended up being cancelled, including “Mega Man Legends 3” for the 3DS, a Kickstarter project was made to bring “Mighty No. 9” to life.

A few months ago there was a teaser trailer hinting at a “Mighty No. 9” animated series, further showing how much fan interest Comcept has managed to garner with its Kickstarter Project. “Mighty No. 9” will be available on September 15 for North America and September 18 for Europe. The physical copies of the game for current-gen consoles will come with “Abandoned Lab Stage” DLC, which introduces a new stage and boss to the game, along with a female playable character called Ray.
