Fans have been wondering if the “Spider-Man” reboot will be an origin story, considering it would focus on a teenaged Peter Parker who is back in his high school years. However, Marvel’s president Kevin Feige assured the solo film will not be an origin story.

Kevin Feige confirmed during an interview with Crave Online that the “Spider-Man” reboot will not be re-telling Peter Parker’s origin story. Feige said during the “Avengers: Age of Ultron” press junket that the solo film will instead “focus on this young high school kid in the MCU dealing with his powers.”

“It will not be an origin story. In Spider-Man’s very specific case, where there have been two retellings of that origin in the last whatever it’s been – [thirteen] years – for us we are going to take it for granted that people know that, and the specifics," he said.

Kevin Feige further teased that since the “Spider-Man” reboot is not an origin story, then there’s already a high school student in disguise as the web slinger when the film starts. "There is a young kid [already] running around New York City in a homemade version of the Spider-Man costume in the MCU, you just don’t know it yet," he added jokingly.

In terms of Spider-Man’s costume in the reboot, Feige revealed Marvel and Sony have taken on a classic look for the web slinger. His costume will reportedly be unlike what viewers have seen in the previous “Spider-Man” films. Feige didn’t reveal any further details but confirmed the costume has also already been designed.

According to Comicbookmovie, Feige’s revelations about Peter Parker’s Spider-man costume somehow fits with those leaked emails about Tony Stark’s involvement with the new suit. The emails reportedly suggested that Stark was the one who handed Peter Parker his new costume.

The studio has yet to cast the next Peter Parker for the “Spider-Man” reboot as Andrew Garfield will no longer reprise his role. But according to Kevin Feige, the reboot will still focus on the character’s comedic side as he banters around with the criminals. The solo film will reportedly also explore Spider-Man’s nervous energy as he teases the criminals with his powers.
