Bad news for Spice Girls fans: Sporty Spice will no longer join their much-awaited 20th anniversary concert tour.

Melanie Chisholm, more popularly known as Mel C, reportedly pulled out from the planned reunion of the highly popular British pop girl group. The “Asia’s Got Talent” judge supposedly loves the girls, “but it just didn’t feel right for her to reunite with them at the moment, according to The Sun. “She has other priorities and obviously it was a bit of a problem that Victoria made it clear she wasn’t going to be part of the reunion.”

Whilst some media organisations have run stories that Victoria Beckham, or Posh Spice, has changed her mind about the joining her former group mates, her rep told TMZ early this year that the 41-year-old fashionista “has been very respectful about the fabulous time they had together in the past, however her focus is now very much her family and fashion business.”

Fans wonder whether this means that they won’t see and hear the girls together singing “Viva Forever” anymore. Melanie Brown, dubbed as Scary Spice, was reported before saying that she’ll only join the reunion if they are complete.

Other members of the Spice Girls are Geri Halliwell, now Geri Horner, also known as Ginger Spice and Emma Bunton or Baby Spice. The group became a global phenomenon right after the release of their hit debut single, “Wannabe,” in 1996. Their album, “Spice,” became the best-selling album by a female group, with over 30 million copies sold. Their succeeding album, “Spiceworld,” sold 20 million copies worldwide.

In 1998, Ginger Spice announced her intention to quit the group, and two years later, Spice Girls said that they are going on an indefinite hiatus. Since then, they focused on their individual careers. The group had a couple of reunions – one in 2007 with a new album and world tour, and another instance in 2012 when they performed at the London Olympics. That same year, they also took time to promote their West End show, “Viva Forever: The Musical.”
