The 2017 Formula One season moves to Circuit De Catalunya for Sunday's Spanish Grand Prix. Mercedes star Lewis Hamilton will start at pole position after edging out Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel by just 0.051 seconds during Saturday's qualifying session.

Hamilton and Vettel are embroiled in a fascinating, two-way battle for the FIA World Championship. While Vettel has prevailed in Australia and Bahrain, Hamilton claimed victory at Shanghai before his Mercedes teammate, Valtteri Bottas, clinched his first-ever Grand Prix win at Sochi in the last week of April. Vettel tops the Drivers standings with 83 points, followed by Hamilton, who trials the German by 13 points. Bottas is currently in third place with 63 points.

In Sunday's race, Bottas and Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen will start at 3rd and 4th respectively in an all-Finish second row. Red Bull's Max Verstappen underlined his team's improvement in Barcelona by finishing just 0.557s off Hamilton while Daniel Ricciardo claimed the six spot. However, the star of during Saturday’s qualifying session was local star Fernando Alonso, who dragged his Mc-Laren Honda to seven place after missing most of Friday's practice session with an engine failure. During the Russian Grand Prix, Alonso was forced to exit the race during the warm-up lap after a technical failure.

After the qualifying session, Hamilton admitted that Ferrari would psoe a legitimate threat to his chances on Sunday. "That was a really intense qualifying. The race pace is looking good and the team has done an incredible job this weekend, as always. I don't know if the guys back at the factory get tired of hearing this, but they've done an incredible job. To make this step forward and bring a great package for this weekend to keep us in the fight with the Ferrari, I'm so grateful to them. We'll work as hard as we can on Sunday so that effort doesn't go to waste," the Briton said in the news conference, via ESPN.

Vettel, a former four-time World Champion, feels his team did a good job of recovering from Friday's practice session. "This morning (Saturday) we couldn't do what we wanted to. We know the track and the car, and I know that it is working. In the end we could have got pole position, but I missed the apex at the chicane. Tomorrow, with the race rhythm, it will be fine, because when you get into the pace it is easier. A good start looks always good, so we'll see, but I am confident for tomorrow and I always try to keep a smile.''

The 2017 Formula One season will move to Monaco for Grand Prix No. 6 between May 25-28. The season will consist of 20 races with Abu Dhabi staging the final Grand Prix in November. F1 Live Streaming and Spanish Grand Prix Live streaming info follows.
