Director Dan Gilroy (L) and actor Jake Gyllenhaal are photographed during the LA Junket for the film "Nightcrawler" in Los Angeles October 11, 2014. In the new crime thriller "Nightcrawler," Gyllenhaal plays gaunt sociopath Lou Bloom, who trawls the streets of Los Angeles to film horrific crime scenes for use in early morning local television news. But inside Bloom's introverted, oddball self lies someone with an intense desire to find success in the corporate world. To tap into the primitive quality of Lou and his hunger, the actor decided to lose weight and use his own actual hunger at night for his scenes. Picture taken October 11, 2014. Jake Gyllenhaal was recently quizzed about his short-lived relationship with Taylor Swift during a guest appearance at the Howard Stern Show on Wednesday, July 22. The actor also talked about marriage, where he was asked why he didn’t choose to wed the “Blank Space” singer.

While talking about his new boxing film “Southpaw,” show host Howard Stern grilled the actor on his previous relationship with Taylor Swift. When asked whether he was aware that he was being defined by one of the singer’s music, Jake Gyllenhaal admitted not knowing what song. Stern mentioned Swift’s “Bad Blood,” which “Good Morning America” used in its segment to promote his new film.

"It was supposedly them trying to make… Because you dated her, it was them trying to make some sort of association there,” Stern said.

However, according to E Online the actor only laughed out the association. He also feigned ignorance of knowing any song from the singer’s albums which is about him.

“First of all, I did not hear that...When I'm doing an interview when you're up at 5 a.m. and you can't really make sense of words, you're not thinking about the background music that's playing behind you,” Jake Gyllenhaal said in response to the “Bad Blood” association with “Southpaw.”

According to Marie Claire, the actor could just be a very good actor or that he really had no idea that “Good Morning America” was shading him when they played Taylor Swift’s song for his segment on the show.

Howard Stern also brought up the topic of marriage, which the 34-year old admitted to be in someday. When asked why he didn’t choose to marry Taylor Swift, Jake Gyllenhaal chose not to answer but instead agreed with Stern’s compliment of the singer being attractive and “beautiful.”

The actor also expressed how much he loves love but admitted to never being able to make it that far to the altar. Jake Gyllenhaal has been in two serious relationships in the past. He once dated Kirsten Dunst from 2002 to 2004. He was also romantically involved with Reese Witherspoon in 2007 until 2009. However, despite the long-term relationships, the actor admitted that he always gets held back by his fear when it comes to marriage.
