South Park, the popular animated TV series, will make its highly-awaited debut on next-gen gaming consoles with the release of the title 'South Park: The Fractured But Whole' later this Spring.

After the resounding success of 'South Park: The Stick of Truth' which was released in 2014, gamers and fans of the show have been clamouring for the sequel to the RPG adventure. While the previous title featured a medieval fantasy that saw Kyle, Eric, Stan, Kenny & Co. fight over the possession of the all-powerful wooden stick, the new release will be built around an all-out war between youthful superheroes.

Once again, the primary protagonist will be the 'new kid in school' who is forced to choose sides between either Cartman's Coon and Friends or align with the group led by Mysterion. Those familiar with the show's history will know a thing or two about characters such as The Coon (Cartman), Mysterion (Kenny), Toolshed (Stan), Mint Berry Crunch (Bradley), Professor Chaos (Butters), The Human Kite (Kyle) and others.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole: Play as a boy or a girl

Unlike the previous edition, gamers will be able to customise the New Kid as a boy or a girl. According to Game Radar, which uncovers the gam's plot, the New Kid walks into his parents having sex which triggers his metamorphosis. "As for your harrowing origin story, well, six-year-old you had the misfortune of walking in on your parents having sex. On that day, everything changed (somehow), and you started on your path to upholding all that is good and just in South Park."

'South Park: The Fractured But Whole' was originally scheduled for a Dec. 6, 2016 release in the aftermath of Season 20 of the hit Comedy Central show which concluded on Dec. 7, 2016. However, Matt Stone and Trey Parker, the creators of the show, had reportedly requested for an additional few months in order to write in some references from the recently-concluded season which revolved around Donald Trump's Presidency, Member Berries, Internet trolling and other hilarious sub-plots.

According to Amazon and other online retailers, the game is now slated for a March 31 release. Since the official website has listed the release date as "Spring 2017", the 31st of March is a realistic release date.
