British footwear designer Sophia Webster's created Barbie collection is set to launch online at Selfridges on Aug. 27. It will be simultaneously available on her website as well as the Selfridges website.

Barbie by Sophia Webster comprises nine styles. It will also consist of candy-coloured kicks -- with six styles for adults and three styles for children. The adult shoe collection will have two pairs of trainers, one pair of flat sandals and three pairs of heels, Vogue UK reported.

Webster’s signature styles, including her Chiara butterfly stiletto sandals, have been updated with pink hues and fun Barbie sayings. It is also included in the collection, as Barbie will reportedly not give up her heels entirely. It will also feature two more heels in pink.

Twenty-three Barbie dolls will be introduced in an array of flat styles. It was in summer that the announcement was made that the iconic blonde dolls will be given a stylish flat footwear makeover.

The collection is available in Selfridges London, Selfridges Manchester, On Pedder in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Jakarta and Beijing and Level Shoe District in Dubai.

“Creating a shoe collection for Barbie has always been my dream project, but getting to be a part of her embracing flats for the first time made it extra exciting, and deeply personal,” Webster said in a press release. The designer who herself loves Barbie said that she loved the concept which strikes a balance between dreams and reality.

Adding to the shoe collection, Webster will also launch a limited-edition Barbie doll. The Barbie by Sophia Webster doll features in a Riko hi-top glitter sneakers, which is paired with accessories like a custom message clutch and oversize bow on her top knot. It comes complete in a specially designed box.

Evelyn Mazzocco, the senior vice president of Creative for the Global Girls’ and Games Brands at Mattel said that the shoe designer captured the true spirit of the Barbie dolls with the collection. She added that Webster created a collection of fashionable shoes that allows girls of all ages to express themselves though Barbie.
