Sony has announced the Australian details for its Xperia Z3 Compact handsets and premium Xperia Z3. Xperia Z3 had gone on sale in the U.K. recently and Techradar reports that the device would go on sale in Australia over a week. The dates however, have not been confirmed by Sony, but mobile phone providers such as Optus and Telstra have confirmed that they will be delivering the devices from Oct. 9 and Oct. 14, respectively.

The waterproof, Xperia Z3 is not very different from Xperia Z2 in terms of appearance. It has a 5.2 inch screen like its predecessor. The Xperia Z3 compact is a 4.6 inch smart phone, with 4K recording. Both the Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact have a 2.5GHz Quad Core Snapdragon 801 processor and run Android 4.4.4 Kit-Kat. They have an internal storage of 16 GB that can be extended to 128 GB with a microSD.

What makes this phone a real attraction is its killer PS4 Remote Play app. This allows the user to use the phones to play PlayStation 4 games via your console. You can stream games from your PS4 to the Xperia Z3 range. According to Gizmodo, the PlayStation app can also act as a secondary screen for watching gameplay. You can control your PSN account or download and buy new games.

The Sony Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact are available at a price of $849 and $699 respectively. Local telco plans and pricing are as follows:
