Android 5.1.1 Lollipop is currently under testing phase for the Sony Xperia Z3. A video showed new features added by the software such as additional options for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth at the notification area.

Android 5.1.1 Lollipop Software In Testing Phase For Sony Xperia Z3

Sony Mobile is now testing the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS for the Xperia Z3 smartphone. According to news report from Wayerless, a video highlighted some additional features to be delivered by Android 5.1.1 for the device including more options for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on the notification area, new animations and new icons inside the Settings menu.

Android 5.1 Lollipop has been spotted as well on the Handset Detection website having the software build template of 23.4.A.0.XX for Sony Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z3. Respective build numbers are 23.4.A.0.279 and 23.4.A.0.248.

Here are the notable changes found on the early build of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop for Sony Xperia Z3:

1. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth toggles at the notification menu now features pull-down menu for more options to choose which Wi-Fi network to connect to and which Bluetooth device should be paired with without going to the Settings menu.

2. Overall changes on the icons in the Settings menu having flatter and brighter designs that incline to Google Material Design.

T-Mobile Sony Xperia Z3 Model Certified With 23.1.C.0.385 Android Lollipop Firmware

North American certification forum posted a newly certified Android Lollipop firmware for the T-Mobile Sony Xperia Z3. It carries the 23.1.C.0.385 software build version certified in May 11, 2015 and a little higher to the previously certified 23.1.C.0.381 which indicates minor changes. It is exclusive to the Sony Xperia Z3 D6616 for T-Mobile United States variant running Android 5.0.2 Lollipop OS. According to the software support webpage of the smartphone, the latest update is Android 4.4 KitKat having the build number 23.0.D.1.123 certified way back in September 12, 2014 based on reference from PTCRB. Other firmware builds certified by PTCRB are versions 23.0.D.1.68 running Android 4.4 KitKat and 23.1.C.0.381 running Android 5.0.2 Lollipop certified in September 4, 2014 and May 8, 2015 respectively.
