Users receive a notification once their devices are ready for the update. Tap on the notification and follow the instructions. Likewise, people can also do a manual check. Just go to Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check now.

Instead of outing Sony, the company got involved with Qualcomm noting senior VP of Sony Mobile, Gen Tsuchikawa, explaining how the new chip will be for its upcoming releases. According to the executive: “Whether it’s long-lasting battery life, watching the latest movies or enjoying music in Hi-Res Audio quality, our customers are increasingly demanding more from their Xperia device to deliver the latest content and entertainment experiences."

He also noted that the company is excited for Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 processor. It is also looking forward to work with Qualcomm Technologies for other products this year. However, it may be the last of Sony's participation in the smartphone arena as the company refocuses its goals and objectives.
