The Sony Xperia X Compact is finally up for pre-order on Amazon. It’s a pretty powerful smartphone with a small form factor. The smarthpone was unwrapped at the IFA 2016. Consumers have long been hungry for the Triluminos technology that the Xperia X Compact uses. Users are thankful that Amazon has reduced the wait and has opened pre-ordering options.

The Sony Xperia X Compact has a retail price of US$499.99 (AU$663) for the white, black, and light blue units on Amazon, reports Tech Times. It’s expected to start shipping from Sept. 25, at least in the US. Other countries will follow soon.

The Sony Xperia X Compact has become a part of Sony’s Open Device program. Users can now follow the AOSP N build guide and AOSP M build guide to flash their phones, stated Sony.

Specifications-wise, the Sony Xperia X Compact has a 720 x 1,280 resolution clocking at 319ppi ad a 4.6-inch display. It’s topped with a Corning Gorilla Glass 4. For graphics performance, the mobile uses an Adreno 510 GPU. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor consists of four 1.4 GHz Cortex-A53 and two 1.8 GHz Cortex-A72.

The Sony Xperia X Compact has an internal storage of 32GB that can be expanded up to 256GB via microSD card. RAM capacity sits at a decent 3GB. Camera-wise, the smarthpone is an amazing catch for photography enthusiasts. Its 23MP rear camera features predictive hybrid autofocus, triple image sensing and fast capture technologies.

Reports suggest that the smarthpone can take low-light photos up to ISO 12,800. The Sony Xperia X Compact’s 5MP front camera supports 1080p. Other features include gyroscope, sensors for accelerometer, fingerprint security components, USB Type-C port and a 2,700 mAh battery. The phone will run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow though an upgrade to Android 7.0 Nougat is in the works.
