Sony Mobile is pushing a new firmware update for Sony Xperia E1 D2005 having the build version 20.1.A.2.13. It is seems like a major update due to the noticeable change on the firmware build number when compared to 20.1.A.0.48 version.

Sony Xperia E1 20.1.A.2.13 Android KitKat Update

A new software update for Sony Xperia E1 is now available for download via Update Centre app having the build version 20.1.A.2.13. Based on the database from PTCRB, 20.1.A.0.48 is the latest firmware build that was certified on Sept. 2 for Xperia E1 D2005.

The new firmware release from Sony will upgrade the smartphone from 20.1.A.0.48, which makes the firmware a probable major release due to the obvious difference in build number. A variant of Xperia E1, D2004, is still running 20.1.A.0.47, which was certified back in Aug. 7, and it is unknown when the 20.1.A.2.13 version will arrive.

According to XperiaBlog, 20.1.A.2.13 is rolling out to several territories in Asia, Europe and Middle East. No change log has been released to detail this update as of the moment.

About Sony Xperia E1

Sony Xperia E1 is a low-cost smartphone released in March 2014 having 4.0 inches of screen display and a 3.15 MP rear camera. It was running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean during release and is currently upgradable to Android 4.4.2 KitKat having the firmware build versions mentioned above.

Sony Mobile did not mention the Xperia E1 as a part of the Android 5.0 Lollipop, and it is unknown if will be included on the second set of devices to get the newest Android OS version.
