Info-Eye and Augmented Reality camera apps have received updates from Sony Mobile to improve recognition of targeted items and implement ninjas on captures. Lifelog, on the other hand, will have its own Web site soon as with API open for developers.

Info-Eye Camera Update

For those using Info-Eye, Sony Mobile improved the camera app on detecting packaged products and brand logos. According to XperiaBlog, it is only available via Over the Air update process using the Update Centre app installed on Sony Xperia devices.

In addition to detecting products and brand logos, the Info-Eye also received improvements to widen its detection of landmarks around the world. Its new update has the file size of 20.7 MB and will update the app from 1.4.10 to 1.6.07.

Ninjas On Camera Captures

Another camera special effect for the Augmented Reality app or AR Effect has been released by Sony Mobile. It supports the Ninja Theme content when taking pictures or recording videos. The AR effect enables ninjas to appear as background or can transform someone into a ninja with a respective hoodie.

Aside from transforming someone into a ninja, it also features other effects on background ninjas such as swords, skill with caltrops and water techniques. Detection of the face to implement ninja AR effect is delivered by Sony's Face Recognition Technology and SmartAR Engine. Download the app from the Google Play Store here.

Lifelog App Coming Very Soon

Lifelog app will soon have a Web interface launching globally with a new service that uses the API functionality. Lifelog is the main app used by Sony SmartWear Experience with its API soon to open for developers to integrate services. Here are some details on what developers can expect from Sony with the Lifelog app API:

- Most information in Lifelog will be available through the API such as music, steps taken, time spent after walking or running, app usage and location.

- Documentation, codes and guidelines are also going to be shared.

- Better visual experience by allowing API functionality and HTML5 to use larger screen

Lifelog API developers can check out updates at Sony Mobile's official Developer Web site. Other information on various Sony devices and services are also available at the site such as SmartEyeglass, Augmented Reality on SmartEyeglass and more.
