Sony unveiled three new Xperia Z5 smartphones at an event in IFA, the biggest consumer electronics trade show in the world. The new range includes the Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact and the world’s first 4K smartphone- the Xperia Z5 Premium.

“Since users already create, share and enjoy most of their content on the go – we’ve set out to bring Sony’s latest innovations in camera, design and display to ensure the Xperia Z5 series is the best possible lifestyle and entertainment platform,” said Hiroki Totoki, President and CEO at Sony Mobile Communications in a press release.

The much speculated Xperia Z5 series features a 23MP rear camera with Sony’s new large 1/2.3 Exmor RS and F2.0 G Lens. As teased before, the camera unit has the fastest autofocus with a perfect blend of speed and accuracy. This aids in capturing split-second moments with absolute ease.

The new sensor, coupled with 5x zoom and advanced processing software, enables users to get a perfect image with minimum loss of quality. Remarkable improvements in low-light photography will result in better photos at night or in darker surroundings without blur.

All the three variants are powered by 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor and run on Android 5.1 Lollipop. The Xperia Z5 and Z5 Premium come packed with 3GB of RAM and will be available in both single and dual SIM versions. An integrated fingerprint sensor power button will adorn all three devices. With Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0, all the three devices could quickly juice up in 10 minutes.

Xperia Z5 Premium is the world’s first 4K smartphone with a 5.5-inch Triluminos display. The 4K resolution will enhance the quality of photos and videos manifold. The high capacity 3430 mAh battery which lasts for up to two days eliminates the need for regular charging. The Z5 Premium features 32GB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 200GB.

The pocket-friendly Z5 Compact features a 4.6-inch HD display and will be shipped with 2GB of RAM and a 2,700 mAh battery. It is available in vibrant colour options like Yellow and Coral.

The Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact will be available globally from October whereas the Xperia Z5 Premium will go on sale starting November in black, gold and chrome. Colour options for Xperia Z5 includes black, white, gold and dark green and black, white, pink and yellow for the Z5 Compact, reports The Sydney Morning Herald .
