The Playstation 4’s exclusive horror game “Until Dawn,” is currently received well by players worldwide. The horror game is even a popular subject for YouTubers who specialize in Let’s Play videos like Pewdipie. Even regular players aim to stream their walkthrough of “Until Dawn,” but recent reports show that Sony has disabled this ability for one popular streaming site.

Recent reports from Reddit and NeoGaf users state that the Share button on Playstation 4 controllers works differently in “Until Dawn” as compared to other games. Usually, pressing the Share button would automatically opt the system to archive gameplay videos for on-demand viewing on Twitch.tv. But with “Until Dawn,” the differently as Sony has disabled archiving for the game. However, not all streaming apps are affected by the restriction. Players streaming through Elgato or Hauppauge, with software like XSplit and OBS, are not affected.

Twitch.tv took to Twitter to explain that Sony "has disabled archiving." They added that they are currently reaching out to the developer to enable the feature.

Sony has not issued a statement regarding the restriction but many think that the developer enacted the restriction to control spoilers for other gamers who are behind others. One of the strong points of “Until Dawn” is that almost every decision affects the storyline one way or the other. It takes cues from the concept of the Butterfly Effect, which is even mentioned in some parts of the game. What this means it that the game’s story could flow in many ways, depending on the choices the player makes. By disabling Twitch.tv’s archive features, players are sure to get a definitive experience when playing.

“Until Dawn” was first revealed as a Playstation 3 title that will utilize the motion controls brought by the Playstation Move. After absence, the game was re-revealed in 2014, but this time it was slated for a Playstation 4 release.
