Known for famously dropping the role in "Fifty Shades of Grey," "Sons of Anarchy" lead star Charlie Hunnam admitted that he suffered a nervous breakdown just to stay on top of his career. Due to his conflicting schedules, the British actor was forced to make a decision to drop out from playing the famous BDSM loving businessman, Christian Grey.

The Hollywood hunk made a lot of buzz of signing up for the part but he made massive headlines when he quit the job two months after signing up and prioritize his TV show. After a year of announcing his withdrawal from the risqué role, Hunnam is ready to talk about the reason behind his decision.

Charlie also revealed that he was intrigue by director Sam Taylor-Johnson and fell completely in love with the character. But shortly after accepting the challenge to play the mysterious but kinky male lead, the actor was scheduled to start shooting with Guillermo del Toro's upcoming film, "Crimson Peak."

"I was going to finish 'Sons' at like 11 p.m. Friday night, get on the plane Saturday morning to Vancouver for 'Fifty', missing the whole first week of rehearsal and start shooting Monday morning. And I was going to shoot that film, wrap that on the Wednesday and the following Monday I was going to start shooting 'Crimson Peak' in Toronto. I just had like ... frankly, something of a nervous breakdown," the SOA actor told Movie Fone.

Aside from crazy timing, the actor was not ready to make the transition from Jax Teller to Christian Grey in such a short period of time. Biting more than he can chew, he doesn't want to risk and "fail on such a grand scale" knowing how popular the book is. So even though how painful it is and how much he wants the role, the "Pacific Rim" star stepped down from the role which was assumed by Jamie Dornan.

Now on his last season with the FX biker drama series, the 34-year-old star is reportedly the top choice to play" King Arthur in Guy Ritchie's upcoming movie. Dornan who replaced Hunnam for "Fifty Shades" has to drop out from the "King Arthur" line up and Charlie is now in the final stage of negotiation for landing the role.

So it seems that everything worked out just fine after he made a huge career decision. He may not appear on the "Fifty Shades" trilogy but there is a big chance that he will star on Ritchie's new project which is reportedly intended to span in six films.
