After playing the iconic role as "Sons of Anarchy's" Gemma Teller, Katey Sagal is heading to FX new drama project "The Bastard Executioner." Although there's no details about her upcoming role, the former "Married with Children" star confirmed on her latest interview that she is "definitely be involved" with Kurt Sutter's new show.

"I'm going to be in it," she said in an interview with TV Line when asked about joining her husband for second time around. "We don't know in what capacity yet, because he's just starting to work on it. But that's where we're going. I will definitely be involved with it."

Penned by "Sons of Anarchy" series creator, the period drama tells the story of a warrior knight during the time of King Edward III's reign. Broken by the devastations of the war, the knight vowed not to use his sword again but was forced to break his own vow when violence threatened to destroy everything that he holds dear.

Pitched by Brian Grazer to 20th chairmen Dana Walden and Gary Newman, the two executives recommended Sutter to team up with him and after working together for the script the network bought the project on the spot. With two of Hollywood's great minds working together, the upcoming show is going to be a big hit.

Slated to premiere in fall 2015, "The Bastard Executioner" is a far cry from Sutter's "The Shield" and "Sons of Anarchy." The new medieval drama is scheduled to start filming its pilot by December after the "Sons of Anarchy" Season 7 finale.

Meanwhile, Sagal's character in the network's biker drama series met her fate in "Red Rose" after she killed her son's wife out of rage. With back turned on Jax (Charlie Hunnam), Gemma gave her son the blessing to kill her after all the lies that she made and was pleased that her darkest secret is now out of the open.

On her interview with Vulture, Sagal remembered how emotional it is to film the last cene with Charlie knowing that it will be their last time together as mother and son. The scene was not just about Gemma saying goodbye to Jax but also Katey to Charlie who has been working together for the past seven seasons.

"Sons of Anarchy" Season 7, episode 13 is scheduled to return on FX for SAMCRO's final ride on Tuesday, Dec. 9 at 10 p.m. Check out the trailer for "Papa's Goods" below courtesy of TV Promo.
