Dubbed as the mother of all episodes, "Sons of Anarchy" Season 7, episode 12's "Red Rose" is both heartbreaking and depressing with three of the show's major characters finally caught up with the Grim Reaper. Known for her role as SAMCRO's murderous matriarch, Katey Sagal recently revealed during an interview how emotional her last scenes with Jax (Charlie Hunnam) and how tough it is to say goodbye to Gemma Teller after playing her for 7 years.

Like checking things on her bucket list, Gemma wasn't on the run when she fled the fictional town of Charming after she found out that Jax finally learned the truth about Tara's death. She somehow knows that her end is going to come in the hands of her son that she managed to say goodbye to her father, and was reminded of the fond memories of her childhood.

" Kurt [Sutter] explained to me and Charlie that basically once Jax knows and Nero finds out and tells her to go away, she knows that the end is nigh," the actress told TV Guide. "She doesn't know exactly what's going to go down but she knows Jax will be hunting her down and looking for her. She's relieved that the secret is out. I think she couldn't live with it any longer."

Relieved that her secret is finally out in the open, the grandmother of two made sure to see Abel (Ivan Londo) and gave him a ring that meant a great deal for her. Not totally turning her back to SAMCRO, she gave Abel the ring hoping that her grandson will continue the legacy of his father and John Teller.

Unlike Tara (Maggie Siff) and Wendy (Drea de Matteo) who wants to get out of Charming and raise both Abel and Thomas away from the gang, Sagal believed that Gemma wants her grandsons to continue the family business and to live the "outlaw lifestyle." Although her character died on the show's penultimate episode, the "Pitch Perfect 2" star felt like it was a great way to let go of Gemma and having her dead is the most merciful way to end than have her live without the people she cared about.
